EAST 38TH STREET RENAISSANCE ALLIANCE

In early 2025, The National Bank of Indianapolis and New Direction Church began their joint initiative: East 38th Street Renaissance Alliance. Aimed at revitalizing the surrounding community and fostering long-term economic empowerment, financial literacy and more, this initiative is designed to address critical needs in the area including job creation, improved infrastructure, home ownership and enhanced community resources. Additionally, the Bank will offer down payment assistance to first time home buyers, further highlighting its commitment to equitable banking and holistic community growth.

The National Bank of Indianapolis is working with New Direction Church to offer financial education workshops. Community members will also be able to speak with a financial consultant during our standing Financial Wellness Office Hours.

ARNOLD PLACE

In partnership with INHP, the provided financial support for Arnold Place, a 33-unit townhome development that offers market-rate and affordable housing for homebuyers earning up to 80% of area median income. Bank employees volunteered their time to complete a Living the Dream project, which helps prepare homes for families through painting, landscaping and other home improvement tasks.

TEMPLE AVENUE TOWNHOMES

Englewood Community Development Corporation has developed Temple Avenue Townhomes, that offers homeownership opportunities for community members earning approximately 60% to 80% of the area median income. The National Bank of Indianapolis provided a grant that lowered the cost for new homeowners. Additionally, the Bank is sponsored an Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis to support the project.

EASTERN STAR

The nonprofit organization, JEWEL Human Services, partnered with The National Bank of Indianapolis to support the mission of Eastern Star Church, building five new homes in the Arlington Woods community. Funding from the Bank provided housing assistance for the ROCK Initiative, which provides affordable housing and community services near the church’s main campus at 30th Street and Arlington Avenue.
